Privacy Policy
Mote is software for contractors and trades businesses, provided by Fig Works LLC (“Fig Works,” “we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information Mote collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Mote web and mobile applications and to mote.so (together, the “Service”).
1 Who controls your information
Mote is provided to businesses (“your company”). When you use Mote as part of your company, your company controls the business data in its account and decides who may access it. Fig Works processes that data to provide the Service. If you have questions about your company’s use of Mote, contact your company’s Mote administrator.
2 Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, role, and login credentials.
- Business data you enter: projects, clients, ledgers, expenses, receipts, invoices, timesheets, and employee and subcontractor records that you or your company add to Mote.
- Location data: if you enable it, approximate or precise device location used to suggest which project a time entry or expense belongs to. You confirm the suggestion before it is saved, and you can disable location access in your device settings.
- Content from connected services: where you connect them, information from your bank or financial data feeds, payment processors, email, calendar, and supplier accounts, used to power the corresponding Mote features.
- Usage and device data: app and device information, log data, and diagnostics we use to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Communications: messages you send us, including support requests.
3 How we use information
- To provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- To power features you use, such as receipt reading, project assignment, reconciliation, invoicing, and reporting.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To improve and develop the Service.
- To send you service-related communications.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4 How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Within your company: your data is visible to authorized users of your company’s account, according to the permissions your company sets.
- Service providers: vendors who help us operate the Service, such as cloud hosting and backup providers, payment processors (for example, Stripe), financial data-feed providers, and email and calendar providers. They may process information only on our instructions.
- Legal and safety: where required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fig Works, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5 Third-party services
Mote integrates with third-party services that you choose to connect. Those services are controlled by their providers and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.
6 Data retention
We retain information for as long as your company’s account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, and maintain regular backups, following industry standards. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8 Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because much of the data in Mote is controlled by your company, we may direct some requests to your company. To make a request, contact us at support@fig.works.
9 Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@fig.works from your account email address. We will confirm your request and permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except for records we are required to retain by law or that your company controls and asks us to keep.
10 Children
Mote is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11 Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
